Mr Bryan Granzien
Independent Non-executive Chairman
Bryan Granzien is a highly regarded executive with extensive leadership experience and success in ASX listed and unlisted environments across mining, agribusiness, information technology and steel manufacturing industries. Following a range of senior executive roles with MIM Holdings and Grainco Australia Mr Granzien held General Manager positions at both Neumann Steel and NatSteel Australia from 2004 to 2011. Mr Granzien was then CEO for Tata Steel Australia, representing the parent company Tata Steel Limited (top ten International Steel Company) as a Director / CEO on Australian subsidiaries Tata Steel Resources and Kalimati Coal. The main objective of these companies was the procurement of metallurgical coal and investment in coal and iron ore mines to supply Tata Steel’s international steel mills.
In 2017/2018 as CEO of the ASX listed Automotive Solutions Group he saw the business through a particularly turbulent period to achieve improved outcomes for all stakeholders. Since that time Mr Granzien has utilized his experience, networks and business acumen to run his own executive management consultancy business.
Mr Granzien’s leadership, change management, relevant industry experience and contacts demonstrate he is well suited to drive Carpentaria Resources through its next stage of development. He has a Bachelor of Business, is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and a fellow of the CEO Institute. Additional to his senior executive roles Mr Granzien has held a diverse number of Director and committee member appointments on industry, subsidiary and company Boards including National Chair of the Australian India Business Council Sub-Committee on
Energy & Resources.
Mr Quentin Hill
Quentin was appointed Managing Director in September 2013. Quentin was Carpentaria’s Senior Geologist when the Company listed on the ASX in 2007, and was integral in the discovery and subsequent development of the Hawsons Iron Project, including implementing the successful resource drilling and finalising joint venture negotiations. Mr Hill is responsible for driving the development of the Hawsons Iron Project. A geologist with 20 years experience in a range of commodities across Australia, Quentin has held technical positions with leading mining companies and in government.
Mr Paul Cholakos
Paul has more than 32 years of resources industry experience, successfully managing complex development projects and operations for leading oil and gas and diversified mining companies, including through executive roles at major Australian oil and gas company Oil Search Limited (ASX:OSH) and Exeter Resources and a variety of operational and commercial roles at MIM Holdings. He has worked in North America, South America and Asia-Pacific. He holds Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Engineering degrees.
He is also chairman of the Carpentaria Audit Committee and a member of the Carpentaria Remuneration Committee.
Ms Linda Lau
Ms Lau has been an Australian resident for over 50 years since studying at Australian National University in the 1970s.
Since then Ms Lau has been a corporate consultant for over 30 years, primarily with large corporations such as Newscorp and Mallesons Stephen Jacques. However, it was her experience within the iron and steel industry that was of enormous attraction to the Board.
Included amongst her various roles was setting up China’s Anshan Iron & Steel’s (now the Ansteel Group) first joint venture in Australia. She was the founding director of Angang Australia Pty Ltd. Ms Lau has also acted as adviser and/or consultant to other major resource companies, with a particular focus on the iron and steel industry.
MR Bob Hair
Bob is by background a lawyer (having been admitted as a barrister in Queensland in 1983) with over 26 years of experience in the resources sector. He was previously an in-house lawyer, director of subsidiary companies and Commercial Manager and General Manager in the MIM group in Australia, Asia, Europe, North America, South America, and GM Commercial for the ASX-listed Highlands Pacific Limited. Since that time he has worked for and consulted to various listed and unlisted companies in the resources industry. Until February 2014 Bob was Managing Director of the ASX, JSE and AIM-listed Ferrum Crescent Limited (ASX,JSE,AIM:FCR), appointed July 2011). He resigned as a director of that company on 29 April 2014. He resigned as a non-executive director on 30 September 2015 and took over from Chris Powell as company secretary.
