MR John Anderson
Mr Anderson has 40 years of relevant corporate and finance sector experience to bring to Carpentaria. He has been extensively involved in project, equity and other financing, the leadership and management of resources companies in Australia and South America and in taking businesses from IPO through to successful operations. Having worked with Union Bank of Switzerland (UBS) in the 1980s in the Project Finance and Resources areas, he has since the early 2000s been on the boards of various ASX-listed companies. He is currently Non-executive Chairman of Canterbury Resources Limited (ASX: CBY), which explores for potential tier 1 copper–gold projects in Australia, Papua New Guinea and Vanuatu. Previous to that, John’s experience includes being Chairman of Anchor Resources, which was ultimately bought by Chinese interests, and Managing Director of Admiralty Resources, where he helped develop a magnetite project in Chile.
Mr Quentin Hill
Quentin was appointed Managing Director in September 2013. Quentin was Carpentaria’s Senior Geologist when the Company listed on the ASX in 2007, and was integral in the discovery and subsequent development of the Hawsons Iron Project, including implementing the successful resource drilling and finalising joint venture negotiations. Mr Hill is responsible for driving the development of the Hawsons Iron Project. A geologist with 20 years experience in a range of commodities across Australia, Quentin has held technical positions with leading mining companies and in government.
Mr Jon Parker
An iron ore and mining industry veteran, Jon Parker has more than 40 years’ experience in the resources sector. This includes 26 years with leading iron ore producer Rio Tinto, where he served as General Manager, Commercial for the major miner’s iron ore division, among various other senior commercial roles. Following a successful career at Rio Tinto, he oversaw as Managing Director the transformation of Felix Resources from a junior explorer to a company with market capitalisation exceeding $500 million and ultimately $3.5 billion through the successful acquisition, expansion and development of mining projects in Queensland and New South Wales. Recent roles have included posts as Managing Director of Norton Goldfields and as a Non-Executive Director of Sphere Minerals, owners of Mauritanian magnetite assets. Jon was appointed a Non-Executive Director of Carpentaria Resources on 12 June 2018.
Mr Paul Cholakos
Paul has over 30 years of resources industry experience including managing complex development projects for leading oil and gas and diversified mining companies. He holds a Masters of Business Administration and Bachelor of Engineering. Paul currently serves as Executive General Manager, PNG Operations, of major Australian oil and gas producer Oil Search Limited (ASX:OSH; appointed early 2013). Paul has extensive commercial expertise, including joint venture, unitisation and government negotiations, as well as experience in both production and business development roles.
MR Bob Hair
Bob is by background a lawyer (having been admitted as a barrister in Queensland in 1983) with over 26 years of experience in the resources sector. He was previously an in-house lawyer, director of subsidiary companies and Commercial Manager and General Manager in the MIM group in Australia, Asia, Europe, North America, South America, and GM Commercial for the ASX-listed Highlands Pacific Limited. Since that time he has worked for and consulted to various listed and unlisted companies in the resources industry. Until February 2014 Bob was Managing Director of the ASX, JSE and AIM-listed Ferrum Crescent Limited (ASX,JSE,AIM:FCR), appointed July 2011). He resigned as a director of that company on 29 April 2014. He resigned as a non-executive director on 30 September 2015 and took over from Chris Powell as company secretary.
